Growing up, Bill Gordean was
surroundedby beautiful things.
In his grandparents home, where
he often visited, magnificent
antique furniture and fine art
were there for him to enjoy and
admire. His passion began there
and flourished over the years.
In 1992, Bill rented a small space along
side other dealers in an antique mall called "Chic and Cheap". He immediately found his niche and was very successful in this new endeavor. A short time later, his business took off and he expanded to the adjoining space. This continued until he found himself taking over half the space in the antique mall. It was at this time that he moved his business, Villa Melrose to a location across the street from the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Villa Melrose thrived in this new space. Clients from all over the world came to shop at the Pacific Design Center and always made a special trip to Villa Melrose to find the most outstanding antique furniture, lamps and mirrors. To this day those same clients come to Villa Melrose because they know they will find unsurpassed quality, a dynamic inventory, and an abundance of extraordinary selections.
In 1995 Villa Melrose moved to a spectacular 7000 square foot Italianesque building on Third Street in Los Angeles. This grand space houses furniture, mirrors, lamps, chandeliers, pillows, paintings, sterling, high-end designer pieces and other magnificent accessories.
In addition, a second Villa Melrose location has opened on
La Cienega. It has fast become a first stop for designers and clients looking for fine antiques. Bill Gordean has an amazing eye and he has filled his exquisite stores with incredible treasures. Specializing in Italian, English and French antiques from the 17th through early 20th century, Bill has created an outstanding collection of antiques.
